Dear old blog, this was nice while it lasted... But, I found a hot new blog and we're really getting along well over at kitheory.com. Plus new blog is right next to all the sexy new Ki:Theory t-shirts and hoodies and songs and stuff (kinda convenient, right?). So, sorry old blog... Things have changed. I feel like we don't even know each other anymore (like when we're at coffee shops and I'm trying to blog and I can't think of anything to write and we just stare at each other blankly...). You know I'm right! Sometimes yah just gotta know when let go and move on...
Happy holidays all! Got a little story for yah about how I became a master carpenter...'s helper over the weekend and got to spend some QT in the country with my brother in the process. It all started this fall when Anne and i saw some rad farm tables at the Brooklyn Flea Market made by this super cool store called Olde Good Things. They make furniture out of old reclaimed lumber so... I got an idea to make one myself. It so happens that there's an architectural salvage company in RVA called Caravati's that has tons of reclaimed heart pine from homes built turn of the century. I went down there and got what i needed and brought it to my bro's house where began planing (like with a planer), table sawing, glueing, clamping, drilling and nailing it in his wood shop until we had transformed it into a Bistro Farm Table of my very own. It turned out stylish, beautiful and STURDY (I'm typing on it now)!!! Just thought I'd share. Families are cool. Thanx Ricky!
We had a great night on Saturday. Thanks again to Sound Of Music Studios for hosting the show and most all... THANX for all the help over the years! On a side note, we've started a Flickr page with a bunch of new photos from the show (taken by Doug Meacham) and other recent events. So check'em out on our Ki:Theory Flickr Group page. Also, if you have any photos from the show or other Ki shows, please feel free to add them to the group! And def do so moving forward. THANX!
I'm happy to dish that Ki:Theory will be playing Sound Of Music Studios on Sat. 11/21 in RVA! It's the studio's 15 Year Anniversary Blow Out and Ki:Theory is closin it down!!! If you in the area and around...roll up. Fun times await...
- Mute Math "Backfire (Ki:Theory Remix)": In the can, waiting for band approval... Fingers crossed. Either way, once we hear I'll wanna play it for you!

Ki:Theory (a.k.a. Joel Burleson) lives in Richmond, VA by choice. He makes glitchy cut-n-paste songs and sings along to them. He did not go to school for this. He and his band (Ash Bruce) have toured nationwide US, Japan and Korea. He’s done remixes for Ladytron, UNKLE, Sasha, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Brazilian Girls.
He continues to make music that he likes to hear in hopes of creating something that others might like to hear.
